Studio Dress Code

To ensure a focused and professional learning environment, all dancers are expected to arrive prepared in the appropriate attire for their class. Proper dress code supports technique, safety, and studio standards.

Diaper Dancers

  • Any color fitted dance attire
  • Pink ballet shoes (black for boys)
  • Hair secured neatly away from the face
  • Ballet skirts or dance shorts may be worn over a leotard
Ballet Shoes: Elastic must be sewn onto the shoes. Double-knot the strings and trim excess. House shoes and slipper-style ballet shoes are not permitted.

Age 3 & 4 and Level I Ballet/Tap Combo

  • Any color fitted dance attire
  • Pink tights
  • Pink ballet shoes (black for boys) and black tap shoes
  • Hair secured neatly away from the face
  • Ballet skirts or dance shorts may be worn over a leotard
Ballet Shoes: Elastic must be sewn on. Double-knot strings and cut off excess. No house shoes or slipper-style ballet shoes.

Tap Shoes: Please replace bow ties with elastic bands.

Level I Jazz & Hip Hop

  • Any color fitted dance attire
  • Hair secured neatly away from the face
  • Dance shorts may be worn over a leotard
Jazz: Jazz shoes or pirouette shoes required. No baggy shorts or t-shirts.

Hip Hop: Tennis shoes required. Shorts or a shirt may be layered over a leotard.

Ballet (Levels II, III, IV, V & VI)

  • Black leotard
  • Pink tights or solid black leggings or fitted black shorts
  • Pink ballet shoes
  • Hair in a neat bun, slick ponytail, or braid
Elastic must be sewn onto ballet shoes. Double-knot strings and trim excess. Convertible tights are recommended for dancers taking multiple classes.

No two-piece outfits or baggy shorts/t-shirts permitted.

Pre-Pointe & Pointe (Levels V & VI)

  • Standard ballet attire as listed above
  • Ballet shoes are required until the teacher approves the dancer for pointe work
Once approved, an appointment will be scheduled for the proper fitting and purchase of pointe shoes.

Jazz (Levels II, III, IV & V)

  • Any color fitted dance attire
  • Jazz shoes or pirouette shoes
  • Hair pulled securely away from the face
If Ballet is taken immediately before Jazz, there is no time for a full change — layers or jazz shorts may be added.

No baggy shorts or t-shirts.

Contemporary

  • Any color fitted dance attire
  • Bare feet or pirouette shoes
  • Hair pulled securely away from the face
No baggy shorts or t-shirts.

Tap

  • Any color fitted dance attire
  • Black tap shoes
  • Hair pulled securely away from the face
No baggy shorts or t-shirts.

Leaps & Turns

  • Any color fitted dance attire
  • Jazz or pirouette shoes
  • Hair pulled securely away from the face
No baggy shorts or t-shirts.

Hip Hop

  • Comfortable clothing that allows full range of movement
  • Tennis shoes required
